The plan says US$25 a month. The bill rarely does.
Most people who try Lovable start on the free plan, build something that looks finished in an afternoon, and upgrade the same week. Then the app hits one stubborn problem. Login works in preview but not on their own domain, or a payment page keeps failing. They prompt, and prompt again, and the credits go.
This guide covers Lovable pricing from an Indian builder's side of the table: what each plan costs in rupees, what the free plan really gives you, how credits get used, and the point where it's cheaper to stop prompting and get a person to look.
One disclosure first. My studio, Reset, runs Reset Tasks, which fixes stuck problems in AI-built apps for a fixed ₹2,000. I'll say plainly where that's worth it and where it isn't.
Lovable pricing in rupees: every plan
Lovable bills in US dollars. Here's what the main plans work out to at about ₹96 to the dollar (October 2026):
| Plan | Credits a month | US$ a month | About ₹ a month | Billed yearly |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | 5 a day, up to 30 | 0 | 0 | – |
| Pro 100 | 100 | 25 | ₹2,400 | US$21 a month |
| Pro 200 | 200 | 50 | ₹4,800 | US$42 a month |
| Pro 400 | 400 | 100 | ₹9,600 | US$84 a month |
| Pro 800 | 800 | 200 | ₹19,200 | US$167 a month |
| Business 100 | 100 | 50 | ₹4,800 | US$42 a month |
| Business 200 | 200 | 100 | ₹9,600 | US$84 a month |

Pro tiers continue up to 10,000 credits for US$2,250 a month. Very few small builders need more than the first two.
Paid plans also keep the daily grant of 5 build credits, plus a monthly allowance for hosting on Lovable Cloud and for AI features inside your app. So a Pro 100 plan gives you a little more than 100 credits of building in practice.
What the rupee figure leaves out. Lovable charges in dollars, so your bank applies its own exchange rate and usually a foreign-currency markup of 2–3.5%. GST may also apply on the bill. On a ₹2,400 plan, that can add ₹100–500 a month. Check one month's card statement to see your real number.
Is Lovable AI free?
Yes, there's a free plan, and it's useful. You get 5 credits a day, capped at 30 a month. You can build and preview real apps, connect a database and try most features.
What the free plan won't do is carry a serious build. Thirty credits is a few evenings of work. A simple change such as "make the button grey" uses about half a credit, but adding login uses more than one, and a page with generated images closer to two (Lovable). Fixes that need several attempts add up quickly.
Use the free plan to answer one question: can Lovable build the kind of app you have in mind? If yes, upgrade for the month you're building. If not, you've lost nothing.
Students can get a discount with a valid student email through Lovable's student programme.
How Lovable credits work, and where they go
Every message you send to Lovable costs credits. The amount depends on how much work the AI does. Lovable's own examples run from 0.5 credits for a small style change to 1.7 for a landing page with images.
There are two modes. In Plan mode, each message costs 1 credit and the AI talks through the change before making it. In the default mode, the cost varies with the size of the change.
Building is cheap. Fixing is where the money goes
Here's the pattern I see most. Building the first version of an app is fast and cheap. The AI is good at screens, forms and layouts.
Fixing is different. When something breaks, the AI often doesn't know why. It tries a change, the error moves, it tries another. Each attempt costs credits, and some attempts break something that was working.
Picture Rohan, who runs a small coaching institute in Pune. He builds a student portal on Lovable over a weekend for about 40 credits. Everything works in preview. Then he connects his own domain and login stops working. Over the next three evenings he sends 60 messages trying to fix it. That's a second month of Pro, around ₹2,400, spent on one bug.
A bug like that is usually a single setting: the new domain isn't on the list of addresses the login service will redirect to. A developer finds it in about 20 minutes.
Rollover and expiry
Credits don't last forever. According to Lovable's pricing page:
- Monthly plan credits expire two months after they're issued
- Credits on yearly plans expire a month after the year ends
- Top-up credits last 12 months
- Daily credits expire at the end of each day
- Credits aren't refundable
So buying a big tier "just in case" rarely saves money.
Burning credits on one stubborn bug? Hand it to Reset Tasks. Tell us on WhatsApp, agree the fix, and pay ₹2,000 once. It's done within 3 working days, or you get your money back.
The costs outside Lovable
Lovable isn't the only bill. A real app usually needs:
| Cost | What it's for | Typical amount |
|---|---|---|
| Domain name | Your own web address | ₹800–3,500 a year |
| Supabase | Database and login, if you connect your own project | Free tier, then from US$25 a month |
| Business email | Sending login and order emails that don't land in spam | ₹100–300 a user a month |
| Payment gateway | Taking payments | About 2% of each payment, plus GST |
| AI features in your app | Chat, summaries or image generation inside the app | Small monthly grant, then credits |
Supabase: supabase.com/pricing. Payment gateway fees: Razorpay, Cashfree and PayU pricing pages, October 2026.
The Supabase free tier is generous, but two limits matter. Free projects pause after a week with no activity, and there are no automatic backups. If real customers use your app, the Pro plan's daily backups are worth the money.
How to spend fewer Lovable credits
You don't need to be technical to cut your Lovable bill. These habits help most:
- Plan before you prompt. Write the screens and steps on paper first. Vague prompts lead to rework.
- Use Plan mode for anything big. Paying 1 credit to talk through a change is cheaper than paying for a wrong one.
- One change per message. "Fix the login and redo the pricing page" invites both to go wrong.
- Say exactly what's wrong. "Login fails on my domain with this error" beats "login is broken".
- Connect GitHub early. Your code then lives in your own account, and a developer can look at it if you need help.
- Stop after three failed attempts. If the AI hasn't fixed it in three tries, the fourth rarely works. That's the moment to get help.
The last point matters most. The AI is good at building and poor at diagnosing. A person who reads the error and the settings usually finds the cause quickly.
When to stop prompting and get help
I'm not against Lovable. For a first version, it's one of the fastest and cheapest ways to get something real in front of users.
But there's a clear point where prompting stops being the cheap option. Stop and get help when:
- You've spent more than about 20 credits on one problem
- The fix keeps breaking something else
- The problem is about your domain, login, payments or email
- It works in preview but not on your live site
- You're about to put real customers' data into the app
Those are almost always configuration problems outside the code the AI can see. They're also the problems where a mistake costs the most.
Now picture Meera, who sells handmade jewellery from Jaipur. She builds her shop on Lovable and connects Razorpay. Test payments work. Real ones don't confirm the order, so customers pay and see an error. She spends a fortnight and about ₹5,000 in credits before asking for help. In cases like this, the cause is usually a missing webhook: the message Razorpay sends to your app to say a payment succeeded. Fixing it takes under an hour.
Here are the most common problems in AI-built apps when they go live, and how to fix each one.
Lovable alternatives, and what they cost
If Lovable isn't the right fit, these are the closest alternatives:
| Tool | Entry paid plan | Free plan | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lovable | US$25 a month, 100 credits | 5 credits a day | Web apps with a polished look |
| Emergent | US$20 a month, 100 credits | 10 credits a month | Full apps from one prompt; Indian company |
| Bolt | US$25 a month, 10M tokens | 1M tokens a month | Quick prototypes, more code control |
| Replit | US$20 a month (Core) | Limited | Apps that need a real backend |

I compare all four in detail, with what each costs in rupees and where each one breaks, in Lovable vs Emergent vs Bolt vs Replit.

Frequently asked questions
Is Lovable AI free?
Yes. The free plan gives you 5 credits a day, up to 30 a month. That's enough to try Lovable and build a small prototype. For a full app, most people need a paid plan for at least the month they're building.
How much does Lovable cost in India?
Lovable charges in US dollars. Pro starts at US$25 a month for 100 credits, about ₹2,400 at October 2026 rates, or US$21 a month billed yearly. Your bank's exchange rate, foreign-currency markup and GST can add to that.
Can I pay for Lovable in rupees or with UPI?
Lovable bills in US dollars by card. Use a card enabled for international payments, and expect your bank to convert the amount and add its markup.
What happens to unused Lovable credits?
Monthly plan credits expire two months after they're issued. Daily credits expire at the end of each day. Top-up credits last 12 months. Credits aren't refundable.
Do I own the app I build on Lovable?
You should, but make sure. Connect your project to a GitHub account in your name, and keep your domain and database accounts in your name too. Here's why the accounts matter as much as the code.
What's the cheapest way to fix a bug in my Lovable app?
Try up to three clear, specific prompts. If those fail, stop. Further prompts usually cost more than having a person find the cause. Reset Tasks fixes one problem for ₹2,000, with a money-back guarantee.
